Panther Creek Cellars’ Tony Rynders Feature | Wine Business
Dundee, Oregon, September 21, 2016 — Panther Creek Cellars, one of Oregon’s first wineries to be recognized for its exceptional regional blends and single vineyard designates, especially Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, continues its 30th anniversary celebration throughout the Fall. The winery’s Dundee Tasting room will feature unique current releases and library selections, special programs, and upcoming holiday events. Founded in 1986 by legendary winemaker Ken Wright, Panther’s winemaker today, Tony Rynders, continues to craft unique, site-specific and expressive age-worthy wines; his 2014 Lazy River Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2014 Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2014 Schindler Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2014 Carter Vineyard Pinot Noir as well as his 2014 Winemaker’s Cuvée and 2014 Pinot Gris are all now available.
“Early on, Panther Creek established its focus on single vineyard Pinot Noir offerings from Oregon,” noted Tony Rynders. “It’s a great opportunity and challenge for me to work with some of the brand’s foundation vineyards like Carter and to continue to explore new ones like Kalita, Schindler and Lazy River. Plus it is fun to showcase the amazing fruit form our state and ageability of our new world wines.”
”What’s particularly unique about Oregon is the specificity of place and the creative spirit exemplified by winemakers like Tony,” added Sam Bronfman, cofounder and managing partner of Bacchus Capital which owns the brand. “Clearly the Willamette Valley is now recognized as a world-class wine-producing region and we at Panther Creek are proud to be a part of its history and its future.”
